Fresh faces join Greece’s national water polo squad
The revamped national water polo team is entering the World League today facing France in Piraeus at 8 p.m. New coach Tassos Doumbas has invited several uncapped players, aiming to create a new squad with a view to the 2012 Olympic Games. Normally Greece would be the favorite against France. In the women’s game, Olympiakos has reached the semifinals of the LEN Trophy, after eliminating Mediterrani of Barcelona last weekend. The Piraeus side will now play Hungarian powerhouse Dunaujvaros on March 4 and 18, with the return leg in Greece.
