Serb-Australian tennis star Jelena Dokic is the biggest name among the participants of the Vogue Athens Open 2009, announced by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) yesterday. The women-only tournament, to take place at the Olympic Tennis Center in Athens from September 26 to October 4, will be graced by the presence of the former Number 4 in the world, who at the age of 26 already has a career spanning 11 years under her belt. Dokic will be just one of the several top tennis players to star in the Vogue Athens Open, along with last year’s winner, Spain’s Lourdes Dominguez Lino. The tournament’s Number 1 player will be Romanian Ioana Raluca Olaru, currently Number 53 in the world. Italy’s Tathiana Garbin, the world’s Number 59, will be the tournament’s Number 2. Fans will also be able to see two of the top German players, Tatjana Malek (Number 66) and Kristina Barrois (Number 67).
