New Italian coach for Akratitos after Paraschos quits

Italian Alberto Bollini is the new coach of first division soccer club Akratitos, the team announced yesterday. The terse announcement said the 37-year-old Bollini was expected in Athens later yesterday to take on his duties. Bollini, who coached the youth team of Lazio in Italy, will replace Greek Giorgos Paraschos, who resigned on Monday. The club’s explanation for Paraschos’s departure was a «personality clash.» But the newspaper SporTime said involvement of club officials in the transfer of players «pushed Paraschos to resignation.» No details were given in the announcement regarding any financial details. Akratitos fought hard last season and escaped relegation to the second division. It finished the 14-team first division in 11th place, with 35 points. (AP)
