Panathinaikos and Olympiakos will be renewing their basketball rivalry tomorrow, as the series of the best-of-five finals for the Greek league is to start at the Olympic Sports Hall in Athens. Panathinaikos has the home advantage and will be desperate to hold on to it tomorrow night (at 9.45 p.m., live on Skai), given that the first match of each series usually dictates its overall development. Olympiakos, on the other hand, promises to do what Panathinaikos did last year, that is score an away win in the opening match of the series and go on to win its first title since 1997. The two rivals reached the finals over the weekend by sweeping their opponents 3-0 in the semifinal series. Panathinaikos had a hard time beating Panellinios 75-65 at home on Sunday, while Olympiakos had a rather easier task beating Maroussi 89-77 on Saturday in Piraeus. Also tomorrow (6 p.m.), Maroussi and Panellinios will begin their battle for a place in next season’s Euroleague.
