Pateras is back in the PAO chair
Nikolas Pateras is back at the top of the Panathinaikos soccer club board table as of yesterday, following his meeting with Yiannis Vardinoyiannis and Andreas Vgenopoulos in the afternoon. The Greens’ three main shareholders also decided not to proceed with the free concession of a 25 percent stake that Vardinoyiannis had offered them on Monday, but instead opted to conduct a new share capital increase next summer, during which Vgenopoulos and Pateras will buy the stake at its normal price. After a three-and-a-half-hour meeting at a hotel in Syntagma Square, the three businessmen emerged with smiles, displaying confidence in their ability as a team to steer the Greek champions toward a great future. «Panathinaikos is today entering a new era of multiple ownership,» a statement signed by all three men suggested.
