Tornado Europeans at Lake Garda…

Greek sailing duo Iordanis Paschalidis and Costas Trigonis have again been crowned the champions at the Tornado Europeans at Lake Garda, Italy. The Greek crew won the title for the third consecutive year after completely dominating the competition. They won all three races on the last day, Saturday, despite the rainy and windy conditions, to complete a clean sweep across the four days. ‘The truth is that we came here to win and we have achieved that perfectly by winning all races. The way we lost the gold medal in the world championship made us more stubborn,’ said Trigonis. Paschalidis and Trigonis are among Greece’s biggest hopes for a medal at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. The other Greek crew, Nikos Mavros and Alex Tagaropoulos, finished fourth, a great result for a duo who have only been sailing in the Tornado class for one year.
