Olympic, World and European 200-meter champion Costas Kenteris will represent Europe in the World Cup in Madrid on September 20 and 21, the European Athletic Association announced yesterday. Kenteris ran the distance in a world-best 19.85 seconds to win the European title in Munich earlier this month, becoming the second-fastest European in history for that distance. Britain and Germany compete separately in the men’s competition and Russia and Germany will do the same in the women’s competition against teams representing Europe, the USA, the Americas, Africa, Oceania and Asia.
