The national soccer team will play Spain…

The national soccer team will play Spain in its inaugural qualifier for Euro 2004 on September 7, at the 17,000-seat Leoforos Alexandras field, since the 75,000-seat Olympic Stadium is closed for refurbishment for the 2004 Olympic Games. Still, it is far from certain that Leoforos Alexandras will be full; so far, only 4,500 tickets have been sold. To entice fans, state soccer pools and lottery company OPAP has announced it is willing to spend 900,000 euros in giving away 10,000 national team shirts, which are priced at 90 euros each on the market.
