A medal bestowed on Greece from the 2002 Winter Olympics for art

The telegram was from Juan-Antonio Samaranch, none other than the honorary life president of the International Olympic Committee, bearing his signature – reminiscent of a train stopped at a station – and congratulating Dr Mina Papatheodorou-Valyraki on being selected as the Sports Artist of the Year 2002 by the United States Sports Academy. One more honor for Mina, wife of former Public Order Minister Sifis Valyrakis. Aspis Bank’s decision to launch the unusual product underscores the tough competition in the mortgage market. Spurred on by explosive credit growth, banks have attempted to outdo each other and grab a substantial share of the sector with one new product after another and at the same time have brought rates down to eurozone levels.
