Local and global fashion meet on the catwalk
Mixing local with international talent, the 9th edition of Athens Xclusive Designers Week (AXDW) runs at the Ethniki Insurance Megaron in Athens from March 19 to March 22. Showcasing collections for fall-winter 2011-2012, the event?s roster includes a number of Greek-born designers working abroad.
Catwalk highlights include a concept show by Milan-based Angelos Frentzos as well as Franco-Greek rising star Antoine Antoniadis?s first runway show in Athens. This season?s AXDW fashion calendar also includes collections by Myrto Dramountani (formerly based in New York, she now lives in London); Melissa Diamantidi (she worked alongside Roland Mouret and currently resides in London); Greek-Canadian Stephan Caras; Romania?s Andreea Tincu; colorful New Yorker Indashio and talented Cypriot Stelios Koudounaris.
On the locally-based front, designers and brands showing their take for next winter include Chara Lebessi, Miltos, Celebrity Skin, Ratt by Ritta Attalla and Christine
