Greece set for Eurovision 2011 final

Cyprus-born Loukas Giorkas and Greek hip-hop artist Stereo Mike are representing Greece in the final of the 56th Eurovision Song Contest, which will be taking place at the Dusseldorf Esprit Arena on Saturday, May 14. This year?s Greek entry is ?Watch My Dance,? a mix of hip-hop with folk-rooted zeibekiko rhythms.

The Greek team made it to the final stretch of the competition following a successful appearance in the semifinal on May 10. ?Watch My Dance? was composed by Yiannis Christodoulopoulos with lyrics by Eleana Vrachali, while the Greek team?s choreography on stage was undertaken by Constantinos Rigos.

Other countries that have qualified for the final include Serbia, Lithuania, Hungary, Georgia, Finland, Russia and Iceland, while hopefuls such as Albania, Malta, Portugal and Turkey failed to make make the cut. Saturday?s final will be broadcast live on NET (ERT HD), starting at 10 p.m. The Greek entry is ninth in order of appearance.
