It’s shoe time at Mary Katrantzou

Greek-born, London-based fashion designer Mary Katrantzou took a good look at the world of shoes in her spring-summer 2014 collection presented at London Fashion Week on Sunday evening.

Katrantzou, who is known in the fashion capital as the Queen of Prints, took numerous details found on traditional brogues and colorful sneakers and transposed them onto her customary printed garments.

A second dominant theme in the 30-year-old designer’s collection were blown-up details of works created in the ateliers of celebrated French embroidery house Lesage.

“The placement of the prints was, as usual, immaculate,” noted www.style.com, while France’s online Elle edition defined Katrantzou’s take on Lesage as “charming.”

In 2012 Kantrantzou was one of three nominees in the Designer of the Year category at the British Fashion Awards, while in 2010 she earned the Swiss Textiles Award.
