London Greek Film Festival calls for entries

The annual London Greek Film Festival is now accepting submissions for its October 6-17 meeting this fall. This year marks the seventh gathering in the history of the event, which is considered the international meeting point for Greek film.

The submissions deadline is May 23. Films and screenplays of all subjects are accepted from individuals and production companies of Greece, Cyprus and the Greek diaspora. Non-Greek individuals and production companies are also eligible to enter the festival, provided that their film or screenplay is related to Greece or Greek themes.

Submissions will compete for the Odysseus Awards, “a tribute to the odyssey the filmmakers go through in doing what they love.” Last year’s winners include Vassilis Mazomenos’s “10th day,” which picked up the Best Fiction Feature Film, and Kimon Tsakiris’s “Mitsigan – Hardships and Beauties,” which was selected as the Best Documentary.
