Paris honors late Greek statesman

The mayor of the 16th arrondissement of Paris has installed a plaque at 21 Boulevard de Montmorency in Paris, where the statesman, Constantine G. Karamanlis (1907-88), later to become president of Greece, spent 11 years in self-exile. The plaque was unveiled by Karamanlis’s younger brother Achilleas, deputy and former minister, who spoke later at a reception at City Hall of the great role the late president played in bringing about Greece’s European orientation.
