Third day of Release Athens festival canceled due to headliner illness

The third day of the Release Athens festival, originally scheduled for June 17, has been canceled.

The festival announced that an illness of Jamiroquai frontman Jay Kay led to the cancellation.

“We wish Jay Kay a speedy recovery and hope he will soon be with us,” organizers said in a statement.

Last month, the 47-year-old singer revealed over Instagram that he was recovering in hospital following spinal injections.

The British jazz-funk band were in the midst of their Automaton tour.

Organizers said ticketholders can receive a full refund or use their ticket on the second day of the festival on June 16.
