Greek fashion union’s first event

The Greek fashion scene is bursting with activity. Only a few weeks after the first Moda Athena – a four-day event featuring various Greek and foreign fashion and accessory designers – the Hellenic Fashion Designers Association (HDA) is holding its own catwalk presentation. The Athens Collections Preview, the association’s debut event, is scheduled to take place on Monday, November 29, at the Warehouse in Maroussi. The by-invitation-only fashion show, which is targeting local press and opinion leaders, will feature short presentations by no fewer than 31 designers and is billed as a preview to the association’s ambitious plans for a Greek fashion week. Organized by HDA, the Athens Collections are scheduled to take place in March 2005. The following participating designers will offer their designs for spring/summer 2005: Michalis Aslanis, Daphne Valente, Christos Veloudakis, Fani Voutsela, Lakis Gavalas, Deux Hommes, Giorgos Eleftheriadis, Maro Zannia, Kathy Heyndels, Liana Camba, Vasso Consola, Christoforos Kotentos, Victoria Kyriakidis, Pavlos Kyriakidis, Constantinos, Christos Costarellos, Elina Lembessi, Loukia, Christos Maillis, Mi-Ro, Nicolas Mavropoulos, Nikos-Takis, Markellos Nyktas, Nikolas, Erifylli Nikolopoulou, Yiannos Xenis, Andria Papadopoulou, Lena Papachristofillou, Orsalia Partheni, Simeoni and Vlassis Holevas. Established earlier this year, the association aims to promote Greek fashion both locally and abroad. Meanwhile, in this much anticipated, first-ever joint show, the designers will no doubt demonstrate a collective team spirit. What will be exciting to witness, however, will be their creative differences.
