Music and comedy on Plaka stage

At the recent press conference, Ieroklis Michailidis set the tone for the new performances by theater group Agami Thytai, which has returned to Athens and, as of a few days ago, is appearing at the Zygos music stage in Plaka. Current affairs, stand-up comedy, short theater sketches, pantomime and clowns, cabaret elements and songs are all components of the show that is mostly based on humor, a standard recipe for the Agami Thytai from 1990 to the present. Influenced by Greek revues, silent films and Greek cinema, but also by foreign film legends like Peter Sellers and Jerry Lewis, Agami Thytai has for years produced lively and highly entertaining shows – a much-needed antidote in the era of television and unimaginative shows. New faces Its latest production, which has already played in Thessaloniki, features the usual suspects: Ieroklis Michailidis, Dimitris Starovas, Taxiarchis Hanos, Stathis Pachidis, Roula Manissanou, Giorgos Klimentos and Christos Mitretzis, while new members have been added to the group, which now counts 20 people. New characters will appear on the Zygos stage, while older ones, such as the delightful grandmother, will tell new stories. Agami Thytai are playing at Zygos, 22 Kydathinaion, Plaka, tel 210.324.1610 / 324.1818, Thursdays to Saturdays at 11 p.m. and Sundays at 9 p.m.
