Tourism boost on horizon

Good news is expected in the near future, as Prime Minister and Culture Minister Costas Karamanlis is setting higher standards for tourism. The prime minister recently unveiled new focuses and a plan for improved infrastructure and services in order to solve the problem of reduced tourism which has failed to recover, despite the country’s wonderful image abroad, thanks to the best – and safest, everyone agrees – Olympic Games in Athens last year. Tourism Minister Dimitris Avramopoulos, who was also present at the briefing, naturally agreed and now endorses the plans on talk shows. Summertime is already here and this year’s publicity campaign for Greece as a tourist-must is better and broader. The slogan is «Live Your Myth in Greece.»
