Historian-diplomat to address Athens event

“Dimitrios Vikelas: A Man of Many Parts» is the subject of a lecture to be given on Monday evening at the Theodoros V. Karatzas Auditorium, 82-84 Aiolou Street, by the former British ambassador to Greece, Sir Michael Llewellyn Smith. The distinguished historian and author of books on Greece, the Hellenism of Asia Minor, and Athens, has arrived to carry out research in the Benaki Museum archives for another biography, this time on the late statesman Eleftherios Venizelos. Stelios Papadimitriou, president of the Alexander S. Onassis Foundation, is to introduce the guest. The lecture begins at 8 p.m., but please note that the doors will close at 7.45 p.m.
