Greek films at the Moscow Festival

Three Greek film productions will be participating in the 27th Moscow International Film Festival, scheduled to take place from June 17-26. Diversity All three films represent different trends of local film production: Participating in the competition section is Pantelis Voulgaris’s «Brides,» while Giorgos Panousopoulos’s «Testosterone» and Fotini Siskopoulou’s «Rakishka» will be screened out of competition. Another three films – including «Brides» – are to be screened at the 46th Karlovy Vary Festival, which begins today and runs to June 9. The two Greek productions in addition to Voulgaris’s film are Nikos Panayiotopoulos’s «Delivery» and Dennis Iliadis’s «Hardcore.» «Brides» and «Delivery» will be shown as part of the Horizons category, while «Hardcore» was chosen by industry paper Variety film critics. ‘A Touch of Spice’ Tassos Boulmetis’s box-office success «A Touch of Spice» is doing well abroad too. Following screenings in a number of European countries, including Germany, as well as at international festivals, such as those in New York and Houston, «A Touch of Spice» is now entering the Austrian film market. The film’s official premiere there will take place tonight at Vienna’s landmark cinema theater, the Burg Kino. Following the screening, Boulmetis will take questions from the audience. After tonight’s opening, the film will then be screened in four major Viennese cinemas and will also travel to other Austrian cities. The film’s distribution in Austria is sponsored by a number of major companies and banks.
