Fanny Ardant in Greece

«The Woman Next Door,» the latest show featuring celebrated stage and screen actress Fanny Ardant, is scheduled to play in Greece for the very first time next month. The French artist is set to appear in a traveling music/theater production which will kick off in this country. The performance, a combination of Euripides’ «Medea» and Racine’s «Phedra,» will go on stage at the Thessaloniki Athens Concert and the Athens Concert Hall on December 4 and 5, respectively. Dialogues Performing alongside Ardant will be two prominent European soloists, pianist Imogen Cooper and cellist Sonia Wieder Atherton. In this way, the dialogue between Euripides and Racine will be complemented by a dialogue between the human voice and the musical instruments. As the selection of monologues and poetry will be accompanied by piano and cello, the text selection points to the production’s focus on the Greek element – indirectly and through the theatrical approach in the case of «Phedra» and more directly through «Medea.» A rare treat for theater and music lovers alike.
