Tickets go on sale from Monday to watch Vissi in Eurovision song contest

Tickets for the 51st Eurovision song contest, being held for the first time ever in Athens, go on sale Monday. Greece is hosting the contest this year after taking the title last year with the song «My Number One,» sung by Helena Paparizou, according to the rules laid down by the organizers, the European Broadcasting Union. Queues are not expected to form, not for lack of interest by any means, but because tickets are available on the Internet at www.ert.gr and www.eurovision.tv. There is also a list of ACS courier outlets in Athens and other towns where tickets will be on sale, as well as Eleftheroudakis bookstores. On May 18 is the semifinal for all the songs entered. The final will be held on May 20 at the basketball center of the Athens Olympic Stadium (OAKA) and broadcast live. Greece’s song entry will be performed by pop singer Anna Vissi. Singer Sakis Rouvas, who came third in the song contest two years ago, will host the show.
