An Easter with Mozart

The Benaki Museum will participate in the Year of Mozart with a series of six concerts at its New Wing. The Easter Mozart Festival, which kicks off on Saturday, will take place over the three weekends before Easter and has been organized by Giorgos Ploumbidis. At Saturday’s opening concert, pianist Dora Bakopoulou, clarinetist Spyros Mourikis, viola player Nikos Mandylas and soprano Sofia Kyanidou will play Mozart’s Adagio in B minor, K540, the Trio for Clarinet, Viola and Piano in E flat major K498 and concerto arias. On Sunday, pianist Christos Papageorgiou and violinist Dimitris Semsis will interpret Mozart’s Piano Sonata in C major, K330, the Sonata for Violin and Piano in G major K379 and the Sonata for Violin and Piano in B major K454. The following weekend will see concerts with pianist Nelly Semitekolo, violinist Alexandros Halapsis and cellist Constantis Sfetsas (on April 8) and pianist Anastassios Pappas, violinist Marianna Safarova and cellist Florin Gureanu (on April 9). The festival will round off with performances by pianist Aris Garoufalis and violinist Tatsis Apostolidis (April 15) and pianist Alexandra Papastefanou and clarinetist Menios Halkias on April 16.
