Finalists for novel prize

Instituted last year by Skai 100.3 FM and the National Book Center of Greece (EKEBI), the Readers’ Prize for novels was a huge success. Last year 16 bookstores in Attica participated in the pilot program. This year 250 bookstores from all over Greece took part. The six novels short-listed this year are: 1. «I yinaika pou pethane dio fores» (The Woman Who Died Twice) by Manos Eleftheriou (published by Metaichmio). 2. «Amilita vathia nera» (Silent, Deep Waters) by Rhea Galanaki (Kastantiotis). 3. «I agapi den ehei telos» (Love Never Ends) by Costas Karakasis (Psychoyios). 4. «Vasihos metohos» (Main Shareholder) by Petros Markaris (Gavriilidis). 5. «Poli voutiro sto tomari tou skylou» (Lots of Butter on the Dog’s Hide) by Giorgos Skambardonis (Kedros). 6. «Min pyrovoleite tin nify» (Don’t Shoot the Bride) by Chryssa Dimoulidou (Livanis). Electronic vote In the second stage of the competition (November 20-27), readers will vote for one of the short-listed novels. Votes can be submitted by SMS to 4425. Key in BA followed by the number of the book. You can also vote on Skai’s website (www.skairadio.gr) or by fax, to EKEBI at 210.324.8343. The results will be announced on December 5.
