Another two Commandments take to the stage in ongoing National Theater project

The fifth cycle of the «Ten Commandments» series kicked off yesterday at the National Theater’s experimental venue, the Apo Michanis Theater (13 Academou, Metaxourgeio, tel 210.523.1131). The new cycle consists of «Thou Shalt Not Steal,» directed by Theodoris Abatzis, who is also responsible for the music, with sets and costumes by Olympia Sideridou. According to the director, the performance plays with the feeling of having what is yours taken away, although you know it is yours. «It also plays with the illusion that you belong to yourself, so I can take it away. Something that cannot be stolen any more is also stolen.» The play stars Lefteris Zambetakis, Sofianna Theofanous, Panayiotis Larkou, Maria Parasyri, Natalia Stylianou and Sotiris Tsakomidis. The other performance is «Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery,» which was directed by Mania Papadimitriou, who did the theater adaptation along with Nancy Trikaliti. According to Papadimitriou, they went through a series of texts from literature and theater and then tried to step into the other sex’s shoes. The sets and costumes are by Olympia Sideridou, while Tassos Antoniou is responsible for the music. Actors Ilias Kounelas, Paris Lykos, Lambrini Angelidou, Lena Papaligoura, Lefteris Zambetakis and Panayiotis Larkou participate.
