Mystical Dionysios Solomos play at the Vrachon Theater
Dedicated to poetry, the 21st Hymettus Festival is currently presenting a series of performances of Dionysios Solomos’s «The Woman of Zakynthos.» The performances, which kicked off last night, continue tonight and tomorrow at the Anna Synodinou Vrachon Theater. Directed and adapted for the stage by Sotiris Hadjakis, the cast is led by Despina Bembedeli and Hadjakis, with Savina Yiannatou in vocal improvisation. Joining them on stage are dancers Sylvia Katsarou and Katerina Spyropoulou. According to the director’s take, the play follows the descent of the distinguished Greek poet to the Kingdom of Darkness.
