Guitar virtuoso at the Megaron

His guitar transports audiences to different times, while his virtuosity enables him to master all kinds of music. Classical guitarist John Williams appears at Athens Concert Hall (Megaron) on Thursday, in a sold-out concert that is part of the Great Interpreters series. The concert program includes a broad range of pieces from Antonio Vivaldi to Domenico Scarlatti and from Enrique Granados to Isaac Albeniz. Also on the evening’s agenda are pieces by Agustin Barrios and Ennio Morricone, among others. Born in Australia to a British father and an Australian-Chinese mother, Williams was initially taught by his father. At the age of 12, he traveled to Spain, where he studied under guitar master Andres Segovia. Athens Concert Hall, 1 Kokkali & Vas. Sofias, tel 210.728.2000. Starts at 8.30 p.m.
