Oliver Twist Based on Charles Dickens’s classic novel, Oliver is an orphan who is badly treated at the orphanage but also at the home that he is subsequently sent to. Escaping and trying to run back to London, he meets a gang of thieves who initiate him in their tricks, but that is when his adventures get worse. Drama directed by Roman Polanski, starring Barney Clark, Ben Kingsley, Edward Hardwicke, Jeremy Swift and Jamie Foreman. (Star – 21.00) Mrs Brown Queen Victoria has isolated herself after the death of Prince Albert, her husband, and has plunged into prolonged mourning. Brown, a member of her staff, manages to get her interested in life once more, but because of that he soon makes enemies in the palace who want him kept at a safe distance. Award-winning biographical drama directed by John Madden, starring Judi Dench, Billy Connolly, Gerard Butler and Geoffrey Palmer. (ET1 – 21.00)
