Puppets and films for kids

Dance and performance art are now being followed by cinema and puppet theater: A new program aimed at young friends of the arts is being organized by the Michael Cacoyannis Foundation. The series of events, ranging from award-winning films to puppet theater, begins on February 20. The opening features Heinrich Hoffmann’s «Petrotsouloufis» («Shock-Headed Peter,» or, in German, «Der Struwwelpeter»), a puppet-theater performance staged by the Ayusaya workshop combining a set of stories with amusing images that satirizes adult hypocrisy vis-a-vis children. Movie screenings also start on February 20, starting with Angel de la Cruz and Manolo Gomez’s «A Midsummer Dream» and will further include Marjane Satrapi and Vincent Paronnaud’s «Persepolis.» For more information, visit www.mcf.gr.
