The Inclusive Museum | Athens | November 26

The Benaki Museum, the US Embassy Athens and the British Council are organizing a conference on the subject of “The Inclusive Museum: Broadening the Role of Museums and Cultural Institutions in Society.” The conference takes place on Thursday, November 26 from 9 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. The event brings together experts who will explore the ways cultural organizations are becoming more people-centered and fulfilling their roles as community centers. Taking part in the conference is Anita Contini, head of arts and culture at Bloomberg Philanthropies in New York, Esme Ward, head of engagement at the Whitworth Art Gallery in Manchester, and Karen Wong, deputy director of the New Museum in New York. There will be simultaneous translation into Greek and English. Entry is free and based on a first-come, first-served basis. Those interested in assisting may pre-register at www.eventbrite.com.
