Classical Music | Koufonisia | July 22 – August 17

The Koufonisia Classical Music Festival takes place on the Cycladic island in July and August. Pianists Jaan Ots of Estonia and Greece’s Kornilios Michailides will team up for an evening of Bach, Chopin, Beethoven, Dvorak and Debussy on July 22, while oboe soloist Vaggelis Christopoulos joins forces with pianist Natalia Michailidou (photo) in works by Mozart, Poulenc, Ravel, Le Boucher and Baltas on July 27. On August 9, violin soloist Margarita Nastouli and pianist Nefeli Moussoura will perform works by Bach, Schumann and Brahms, while the festival’s final concert, on August 17, will feature Greek harpist Maria-Christina Harper and vocalist Sofia Avramidou. Performances, which take place at the residence of festival organizers Kornilios Michailides and Natalia Michailidou, start at 9 p.m. Admission costs 10 euros and tickets are available at the Aelia store facing the Fos Fanari taverna.
