The 11th edition of the Aegina International Music Festival is taking place on the Saronic island August 6-16 under artistic director Dora Bakopoulou. This year the event pays tribute to visual artist Yiannis Moralis. The festival kicks off with soprano Christina Giannakopoulou, flutist Vicky Vassiliadi and pianist Maria Papapetropoulou performing French works at Sotiras Church on Saturday, August 6. On Sunday, August 7, soprano Elena Kelesidi and pianist Dimitris Giakas present “A journey to Russia with its seductive music,” a concert dedicated to the year of Greek-Russian friendship.
