Car show expects a record crowd

The seventh «Executive Cars» exhibition opened its doors to the public at the Helexpo grounds in Maroussi yesterday and is expected to draw a record crowd of more than 30,000 visitors before it closes on Sunday night, organizers said. This year’s exhibition has on display more vehicles than previous ones, as well as more vehicles being shown for the first time in Greece, they said. Showcased this year are luxury models from Audi, Bentley, Chrysler, Ferrari, Jaguar, Lamborghini, Lancia, Lotus, Maserati, Mercedes Benz, Mitsubishi, Peugeot, G-Model, SAAB, Volkswagen and Volvo. The previous exhibition, in 2000, attracted more than 25,000 visitors and the organizers expect the figure to surpass 30,000 viewers this year. The exhibition was inaugurated by Athens Mayor Dimitris Avramopoulos on Wednesday before an audience of over 5,000 car lovers, members of the press and representatives of business and the arts. «Executive Cars» is open to the public from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily through Sunday night.
