Africa at W/S 95-100 while Med. at W/S 97.5 for 135,000 tons of cargo. -In the Med., Tamoil for 80,000 tons of cargo, loading Oct. 3 Libya, discharging UKC/Med., has fixed M/T Minerva Oncert at W/S 140. -On the Continent, Exxon for 80,000 tons of cargo, loading Oct. 1 for UKC round voyage, has fixed M/T Alfa America at W/S 137.5. -In Caribs, Valero has fixed M/T Crude Baltic for 70,000 tons of cargo, loading Oct. 4, discharging USAC at W/S 157.5. -In W. Africa, Sun for 130,000 tons of cargo, loading Oct. 13, discharging USAC, has fixed M/T Knock Stocks at W/S 97.5. DRY CARGO The Capers have managed to stay positive throughout last week. The Baltic Caper index was up by 128 points, from 1037 on Monday to 1165 on Friday and gaining another 4 points yesterday. -The Panamax index has lost 3 points, down to 981, and Handies has lost 8 points, down to 7501, with freight rates, however, generally remaining unaltered. -On smaller sizes, Panocean has fixed an old unit of 26,000 dwt at USD 4,000 daily, South Korea to Persian Gulf, with same charterers looking for similar tonnage with October dates. -On Capers, Korea Line has fixed M/V Amagisan, 157,998 dwt, built 1993, delivery Oct. 1-15 Japan, trip via Australia, redelivery UK at USD 7,200 daily. -On Panamax in Far East, Oetker has fixed M/V Primrose, 75,000 dwt, built 2001, delivery China Oct. 6-15, redelivery UKC, at USD 6,000 daily. -In Atlantic, Cargill has fixed M/V Anangel Progress, 69,400 dwt, built 1989, delivery end-Sept. US Gulf, redelivery Egypt at USD 7,500 daily and USD 140,000 ballast bonus. -On grain cargoes, Aston has fixed M/V Lady Wind for 15,000 tons of cargo, loading end-Sept. Russia, discharging west coast Italy, at USD 15.00 per ton with 2,000-ton load and 3,000-ton discharge. -On coal cargoes, Cargill, for 150,000 tons of cargo, loading S. Africa end-September, discharging Spain has fixed M/V Marvelous at USD 4.30 per ton with 2 days load and 25,000-ton discharge.
