Olympic Air to appeal EU block on Aegean merger
Olympic Air (OA) plans to appeal a recent EU decision banning a proposed merger with rival Aegean, it said on Wednesday.
«Along with Aegean Airlines, OA will appeal the decision from the European Commission’s Competition Committee banning the merger,» the Greek company said in a statement.
The European Commission blocked the planned deal in January on the grounds that it would create a monopoly and lead to higher fares.
