New car sales plummet 54.4 pct

New car sales, measured by the number of vehicles registered for the first time in Greece, for the first three months of 2011 plummeted 54.4 percent year-on-year to 34,145, the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) said on Tuesday.

Toyota topped the sales list, selling 3,568 vehicles for the three month period, followed by Opel with sales of 2,775 units, ELSTAT said.
