Hellenic Petroleum to import fuel ahead of strike

Hellenic Petroleum (ELPE) will resort to importing fuel from abroad in order to secure the market?s normal supply during a 10-day strike by its employees that starts on Thursday.

According to a Reuters report that was confirmed by the group?s officials, ELPE is contemplating the acquisition of some 60,000 tons of refined products through auction, to be delivered in mid-May.

Such imports also helped satisfy market demand during an earlier 10-day strike in April, the officials said.
