Bourse posts small recovery

The Greek bourse experienced a rollercoaster ride on Thursday as it dipped at the start and recovered later to end the losing streak of the two previous sessions.

The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index ended at 928.86 points, adding 1.41 percent from Wednesday?s closing figure of 915.98 points. The blue chip FTSE/ATHEX 20 index expanded by 1.19 percent to end at 390.56 points.

Most blue chips ended the day in green, led by Hellenic Petroleum (up 5.73 percent), OTE telecom (4.19 percent), OPAP (3.65 percent) and Marfin Investment Group (3.23 percent). Alpha Bank lost 4.42 percent while Eurobank EFG declined by 4.38 percent.

In total, 89 stocks moved up, 53 went down and 37 remained unchanged.

Turnover came to 66.3 million euros, down from 73.7 million on Wednesday.
