Greece, China sign memorandum of cooperation

National Consultative Assembly of China Chairman Jia Qinglin (right) visited on Monday the Container Terminal in Piraeus, managed by Chinese company Cosco, in the presence of Regional Development and Merchant Marine Minister Michalis Chrysochoidis (center).

The two countries yesterday signed a memorandum of financial cooperation and four deals between Greek and Chinese companies, worth a total of 550 million euros.

“The Chinese Development Bank has already contacted Greek shipowners to use 5 billion euros from the support fund for the Greeks in order to realize investments in the shipping sector in China,? Jia stated on Monday.

Chrysochoidis said Greek exports to China are growing by 50 percent this year.
