Greece eyes EEZs, oil exploration
Greece wishes to delineate exclusive economic zones (EEZ) while proceeding with efforts to explore and exploit potential oil and natural gas deposits in offshore areas, Environment, Energy and Climate Change Minister Giorgos Papaconstantinou said recently.
?In no way is Greece willing to not exercise all its sovereign rights and these include EEZs,? Papaconstantinou said in an interview in Athens. ?EEZs are a tool Greece intends to use, in line with its overall policy.? [Bloomberg]
