Attempts being made to win back German tourists

Greece is trying to woo back German tourists this year after anti-German sentiment fueled by the debt crisis caused bookings to plummet, Tourism and Culture Minister Pavlos Geroulanos said this week.

Germans made up the largest group of a record 16.5 million visitors to Greece in 2011, yet their holiday bookings so far this year are disappointing, Geroulanos said in an interview at the ITB tourist fair in Berlin.
