Power suppliers to be probed over property tax bills

An Athens prosecutor has opened an investigation to find out whether there are other alternative electricity suppliers than Energa and Hellas Power which may have not paid to the state what the law provides for regarding the extraordinary levy on properties paid through electricity bills.

Prosecutor Grigoris Peponis intends to find out whether there are any more suppliers that may have not paid the tax collected to the Finance Ministry in full and on time following the scandal involving the two companies that have now had their operating licenses revoked.
