Rifai expects tourism to add 3 percent

Greece will have another positive year in terms of tourism with growth of close to 3 percent, according to United Nations World Tourism Organization Secretary-General Taleb Rifai.

Speaking at a joint press conference in Athens with Culture and Tourism Minister Pavlos Geroulanos (right), Rifai said: «Europe will see growth of 3.3 percent from last year and Greece is going to follow that trend. I can assure you that Greece will see growth in numbers but that will depend on two factors: Greece must facilitate travelers and visa issuing to attract tourists from other markets and mainly Russia, and political processes, the elections must be completed so that a clear picture can emerge.”
