Moscovici: Greek exit prospect ‘not acceptable’

French Finance Minister Pierre Moscovici said on Monday that the prospect of Greece leaving the euro is ?not acceptable.?

Both Greece and its European partners need to meet their commitments, he added while speaking to journalists in Paris.

He is due to visit Athens for talks with Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras on Thursday, the first such official visit by a French finance minister to Greece since 1998. Moscovici will also meet with Greek Finance Minister Yannis Stournaras and Development Minister Costis Hatzidakis, according to an e-mailed statement on Monday from the French Embassy in Athens.

Moscovici will give a news conference later the same day at the ambassador?s residence, the statement said. [Bloomberg]
