Greek economy contracts, but at slower pace

The Greek economy contracted in the third quarter of the current year though at a slower pace than initially estimated, according to data released by the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) on Friday.

According to the ELSTAT report, gross domestic product was down by 6.9 percent in the third quarter compared to the same period last year. The statistical authority had initially expected GDP to go down by 7.2 percent.
