Property auctions over debts suspended

In a legislative act, the government in Athens on Monday extended the suspension of property auctions for debts of up to 200,000 euros and for main residences regardless of the amount owed.

The same act includes favorable regulations for professional property tenants so that in cases where they are forced to end their lease contract, the compensation to be paid will be relatively small.

The act also provides for the Development Ministry to introduce the voluntary opening of retail stores on Sunday, December 30.
