Ryanair to make Hania one of its hubs

Irish low-cost airline Ryanair announced on Wednesday it plans to open its first Greek base at Hania International Airport in western Crete.

From April 2013 until October each year the airport will serve 26 European destinations, of which 11 will be new ones.

The airline will operate 106 flights per week and have an estimated total passenger traffic of 500,000.
