Ex PASOK minister Papoutsis to represent Greece at World Bank

Former PASOK minister and ex European Commissioner Christos Papoutsis is to represent Greece at the World Bank, it was announced on Friday.

A statement issued by the Development Ministry confirmed the appointment, referring to “a close cooperation over the past few months between the government and the World Bank as part of efforts to improve the investment climate, facilitate enterprise and further upgrade Greece on the World Bank’s competitiveness chart.”

Papoutsis is to assume his duties as Greece’s representative to the World Bank from September 15, the statement said.
