Hellenic Sugar president resigns

The president of Hellenic Sugar Industry SA, Chrysostomos Geroukis, resigned on Thursday, citing continuous delays regarding the company’s privatization as the reason behind his decision.

In his resignation letter Geroukis noted that whether the company is privatized or not, a decision regarding its future ought to be taken swiftly.

Negotiations for the sale of 82 percent of the company to France’s Cristal Union came to a halt last week.
