Greece’s DEPA talks rates and quantity with Gazprom

Negotiations with Russian energy giant Gazprom concern both the price and quantities of natural gas sold to Greece’s Public Gas Corporation (DEPA), DEPA Chairman and CEO Haris Sahinis told the Energy and Growth 2013 conference of the Institute for Energy in Southeastern Europe (IENE) on Wednesday in Athens.

He explained that the issue of quantities was brought up by the Greek side because it has recorded a short-term reduction in consumption in the power production sector, which represents 65 percent of total demand for gas in Greece.
